WTC Final in numbers
The Final of the World Test Championship ended with the Blackcaps taking an ICC trophy home for the second time. India lost another ICC knockout match which featured another classic collapse. Kyle Jamieson was adjudged the Man of the Final for his brilliant figures of 5/31 and 2/30. Here are some stats on the Final:
28- India lost their last 5 wickets in the second innings for just 28 runs in 10.1 overs.
23- Difference between extras conceded by India and New Zealand. While India gave away 39 runs (b 4, lb 27, nb 8, wd 0), NZ only gave 16 runs (b 1, lb 11, nb 3, wd 1).
2.50- Average run rate of the match was 2.50 which was 0.63 less than the average run rate of all Tests held at the Rose Bowl. It was 2.34 for India and 2.67 for New Zealand.
1- It was the first Test match for India on a neutral venue in its 89 years history. New Zealand played it's 7th Test on a neutral venue and has won 4 of them now and lost 2.
71- Ravichandran Ashwin finished as the highest wicket taker of World Test Championship bagging 71 wickets @ 20.33. Cummins stood second with 70 wickets @ 21.02.
